I’d like to share a lovely submission I received for the International Women’s Day Gallery and for which I had the nice surprise of the certificate above arriving in the post.
I had also nominated a friend for this gallery and it we were in wonderful company with the stories of hundreds of amazing Queensland women making a difference in their communities.
This was part of the 100th International Women’s Day Celebrations.
(later note – unfortunately this gallery is no longer active)
Renee Veldman-Tentori is a dynamo Brisbane mum who not only cares for two young children, but balanaces a part time job with her own business and supports others in a similar situation.
After her own experiences of the challenges of balancing business and babies and finding little structured support in this area, Renee created Professional Parents, a network which supports families to achieve better work life balance. She puts many hours into co-ordinating and facilitating events such as playgroups, family friendly networking events and business brainstorming lunches for parts who run their own business. Bringing together like minded people gives them all a chance to share experiences and to grow successful businesses around their family’s needs.
She also recently completed a Bachelor of Business (Marketing & Tourism) and a Cert IV in Small Business Management and is currently one of a select group undertaking a Community Leadership course with Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Alongside this, she works part time as Business Development Manager at the Women’s Health & Mother Baby Hub, a not-for-profit social enterprise operated by the Benevolent Society, supporting Brisbane families throughout birth and beyond.
In her “spare time” she has also steadily built her own marketing agency, Zestee Concepts, consulting and training businesses to use social media.
I’d like to share all she does for her family and the community.
