After running around 30 Professional Parents events in the last 2 years (check out the Past Events!), I’ve been taking more of a back seat as I’m moving overseas soon. I am however very pleased that my lovely and talented friends Ngaire and Kelly will be continuing the Brisbane events as these have grown to be a wonderful group of regular and new people coming along each month.
This month was the first event Ngaire and Kelly have organised without me and was a really fun morning, I loved just being able to come along, sit back and enjoy! It’s really good to have a fresh perspective. The concept we used is called speed networking, though we made it a bit less speedy… and it was better this way, meaning we had a chance to talk in a bit more depth with each person. We had the opportunity to meet at least a couple of people we didn’t know and share information about ourselves and our business. Ngaire & Kelly had prepared a list of questions to prompt our conversations, with a few basic ones to be covered each time and then a few more options to choose from.
I don’t have the list of participants and didn’t get a chance to meet everyone, but will post links on this post soon.
Yet again, the Mango Hill Tavern were wonderful in providing us with a meeting space and delicious food and were very patient and tolerant with all our children (who had a great time in the play area).
Here is a photo gallery of the morning:
The next event will be Tuesday 12th June, and being my last event in Brisbane before I move to The Netherlands on 8 July, this will be a casual networking and goodbye lunch.
Head on over and follow the Professional Parents (Brisbane) page to keep up to date with events and information in Brisbane.
There is also a new Professional Parents (Sunshine Coast) group on Facebook, with Marina and Bec due to continue events there.
I will continue to run this main website and Professional Parents Facebook page with ideas, inspiration and information for Professional Parents in Australia and beyond!
